ProMedica Health System Team Lead - Cardiac Rehab - Coldwater Hospital - Full Time - Days in Coldwater, Michigan

ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital has been providing high-quality health care services to the Branch County community since 1939. Located in Coldwater, Michigan, ProMedica Coldwater has 71 acute medical beds and 16 adult psychiatric beds to care for patients and their families.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct reports – functional coordination of day-to-day cardiac rehab operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

Oversees the successful delivery of quality patient care to a group of young adults, adult, and geriatric age patients enrolled in the Cardiac Rehab program. Functions in an exercise therapist role as needed.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Provides oversight of departmental functions and acts as a resource to the department in absence of cardiac rehab director.

  2. Leads and assists in projects and teams as directed by director. Services as a liaison with other departments.

  3. Participates in the development of the Performance Improvement Plan and is responsible for implementation of the Plan.

  4. Responsible for monitoring staffing levels/productivity.

  5. Participates in recruitment, selection of new staff, and staff orientation.

  6. Performs all interventions/procedures within job scope and exercise therapist field of specialty in accordance with standards of care, policies & procedures, QI/PI programs, safety and regulatory guidelines, and role competencies. Maintains AACVPR guidelines and tracks appropriate metrics. Works with the Director and Medical Director in maintaining policies.

  7. Initiates emergency care as necessary and maintains BCLS, ACLS, and other certifications required by the job. Demonstrate use of cardiac defibrillator, non-invasive pacer modes, and all emergency equipment.

  8. Responsible for the daily oversight of operations of the unit. Works with the Director to manage daily staffing needs based on acuity and AACVPR guidelines. Oversees exercise therapists and staff nurses on daily basis.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Minimum of bachelor’s degree in exercise science/exercise therapy.

Skills: Must be able to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas. Ability to communicate effectively, facilitate problem resolution, and function in a team environment. Must be able to operate cardiac diagnostic equipment. Must be able to input information into computer programs and perform basic mathematics. Must be able to handle crisis or emergency situations.

Years of Experience: Minimum of three (3) years cardiac rehab experience.

Years of Experience: Experience performing non-invasive cardiac diagnostic testing strongly preferred. Cardiac rehab experience is required.

Physical Demands: Must be able to read and speak the English language. Must be able to see, hear, and move intermittently, or use prosthetics that will enable you to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Frequent prolonged standing/walking. Manual dexterity required. Frequently lifts/carries/pushes/pulls over 50 lbs. Regularly exposed to electrical and radiant energy hazards. Regularly exposed to nuclear isotopes. Regularly exposed to infection and contagious disease. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens from blood and/or bodily fluids. Subject to long and/or irregular hours.
