ProMedica Health System Supervisor - CBO Revenue Cycle - Full Time - Days - Remote in Toledo, Ohio

HB Revenue Cycle Supervisor – Payment Posting has oversight and responsibility for designated payment posting areas and/or teams. This position collaborates with the HB Revenue Cycle Manager – Payment Posting to drive priority initiatives and in monitoring the performance and effectiveness of the areas under their responsibility. This position is responsible for identifying and mitigating complex barriers and payment posting delays.

  3. Provide oversight of all operations within the leader’s span of control.

  4. Assign work to staff based on workplans established by manager. Monitor for completion in appropriate timeframes.

  5. Manage staffing, resources, and purchases to budget; provide insight for variances.
  6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual requirements related to the leader’s span of control.
  7. Develop and maintain a strong team through training and assessing performance of staff. Responsible for interviewing and selecting potential candidates.
  8. Monitor vendor performance, manage issues within scope, and provide feedback to Manager.
  9. Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement based on subject matter expertise and/or team feedback.
  10. Strive for continuous improvement by focusing on employee engagement, customer relations, quality standards and accountability, and performance standards and accountability.
  11. Collaborate with other department leaders to execute on department initiatives.
  12. Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures related to the leader’s span of control.
  13. Develop, monitor and record staff individual KPIs using consistent criteria among staff members. Provide monthly feedback to staff and management regarding staff performance as it relates to KPIs and functional goals. Work with staff as necessary on improvements and ensure staff performance of duties related to action plans.
  14. Collect, report and review data related to department KPI’s and functional goals. Provide insight for variances to KPI’s and functional goals.
  15. Maintains and develops communication channels with staff through department meetings, email, and one-on-one mentoring, either in-person or virtual.
  16. Provide feedback to the manager on issues impeding timeliness or quality of process and offer recommendations for improvement, including automation opportunities.
  17. Support the work environment by empowering staff to solve problems and address issues.
  18. Perform annual performance reviews for direct reports and execute discipline when applicable.
  19. Maintain working knowledge of patient accounting system and functionality as it relates to leader’s span of control.
  20. Maintain up to date understanding of payer’s billing, reimbursement and medical policies and ensure compliance as it relates to leader’s span of control.
  21. Prepare and lead discussion for team related agenda items on payor Joint Operating Committee (JOC) calls.
  22. Complete assigned special projects in a timely and efficient manner.
  23. Attend and assist in leading all mandatory team and departmental meetings both on-site and virtual.
  24. Complete all assigned continuing education courses. i.e. HBI, Healthstream. a. Maintain current knowledge of Microsoft Office Application Suite. Self-assign training courses as needed. Including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft OneNote.
  25. Accept all other duties as assigned.

Education: Preferred: Associate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Healthcare Administration; OR comparable work experience. Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years in Patient Accounting/Business Office experience, 2 years of leadership experience. Skills: Must demonstrate the ability to accurately and independently solve problems by taking a basic skills test and scoring a minimum of 80%.

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE Must demonstrate creative problem-solving skills. Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must demonstrate excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office 365 Experience. Must be able to move about office and between workstations while on-site. Must interact virtually with team, clients and/or patients. Must demonstrate commitment to exceptional customer service. Must demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Must demonstrate strong analytical skills. Must be a team player and be supportive of our department and ProMedica mission and values. Must be able to work independently, demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritize large volumes of work, quickly learn and retain information.
