ProMedica Health System Support Coordinator IV - Parent Instruction - Per Diem - Days in Toledo, Ohio

Under the direction of the department manager, the Support Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Mom & Me Boutique, along with administrative support for the Preparation for Parenthood program and the Lactation Consultants. Performs a variety of support functions including customer service, administrative functions, and clerical duties.

ACCOUNTABILITIES All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise 1. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Mom & Me Boutique, along with administrative support for the Preparation for Parenthood program and the Lactation Consultants. Ensures efficient operations of the office.

  1. Manages general administrative tasks and performs diversified duties. Coordinates and manages assigned projects using initiative and judgment with minimal supervision. Coordinates the work of volunteers.

  2. Processes payments and registrations, assigns expectant and new parents to classes, and sends confirmations. Ensures that classes are of optimal size. Provides instructors with lists of class participants. Maintains supply of teaching materials. Prepares materials for class distribution. Provides physician/nurse midwife offices and clinics with requested materials.

  3. Greets incoming visitors, answers telephone calls and records messages. Responds to staff and customer inquiries which requires a thorough knowledge of course offerings, hospital services, and policies and procedures.

  4. Sorts and routes all incoming correspondence and prepares outgoing correspondence. Processes purchase orders, service requests as needed. Prepares reports and data collection as directed by the department manager, and compiles department meeting minutes.

  5. Greets customers in the retail area, assists customers in the selection of merchandise, and processes sales. Rents breastfeeding equipment tracks rental inventory. Maintains clean and attractive environment of the retail store and the office.

  6. May assist manager with purchasing merchandise for the retail area. Accepts delivery of incoming merchandise, checks merchandise against packing slips, enters merchandise into computerized inventory, prices inventory and stocks merchandise into the retail area. Balances cash and sales figures according to procedure. Prepares daily retail deposits and tracks daily, monthly, and yearly sales figures.

  7. Performs other duties as directed. Education: HS diploma or equivalent

Skills: Requires excellent customer service skills. Must be self-directed and able to work without close supervision. Must be able to type 50 wpm. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Must maintain confidentiality of patient information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Skills: Microsoft Office including Access. General knowledge of medical terminology

Years of Experience: Previous office experience

WORKING CONDITIONS Physical Demands: Must be able to move about the hospital and between workstations; prolonged periods of standing. Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs., 20% of the time.
